Marriage: 18 May 1786 to the daughter of Coninck, Frédéric de, Marie Anne (1771 - 1811). Their marriage was also announced in the Copenhagen newspaper Kiøbenhavns Kongelig alene priviligerede Adresse-Contoirs Efterretninger (1759-1854) (link to pdf). Her second marriage was to the former ship's captain John Clemens from Ireland, and her third marriage was to Justitsraad Michel Leigh Smith. She allegedly said of her three marriages: "The first one I entered into to make my parents happy, the second to make my purse happy, and the third to make myself happy" (Henningsen, 78)
