The Global History Network of the Oldenburg Monarchy is an informal network of scholars interested in the global history of the former conglomorate state ruled by the king in Copenhagen until the end of the Oldenburg dynasty in 1848.

This includes actors from Denmark, Norway, Schleswig, Holstein, Iceland, Greenland, Tranquebar & Serampore in India, the Gold Coast, the Danish West Indies, Canton in China, the Faroe Islands, Oldenburg, Delmenhorst and more interacting in the larger world as well as global encounters in these locations.

The overall topic is global history, which naturally includes business history, maritime history, cultural history and much more.

The aim of the network is to share knowledge of new publications, conferences, online resources etc and in the long run begin a series of conferences about the shared topic in relevant locations around the world.

If you wish to be added to the network or have questions, please contact Benjamin Asmussen at ba@mfs.dk.
