Timeline

1755 - Employed by the Asiatic Company as assistent. Sailed to Trankebar, arrived on August 5th (Larsen Ostindiske Personalia)

1756 - Made overassistent on the Nicobar Islands, to where he sailed on the ship Kiøbenhavn at the end of August on the expedition alongside Volquards, Tycho (Larsen Ostindiske Personalia)

1756 - Following the death of Volquards, Tycho in December, Lund was made opperhoved of "Nye-Danmark" (the Nicobar Islands) (Larsen Ostindiske Personalia). According to Struwe, the captain on board the Kiøbenhavn, reported that he had not previously imagined that Lund could be fit for such a task, but that now, the captiain believed Lund had potential and had become "a reasonable man showing sensible skills" (Struwe, VGK 6, 232)

1757 - Stepped down as opperhoved of "Nye-Danmark" at the arrival of Twed, Jens, but upon the death of Tved, Lund once again resumed command (Larsen Ostindiske Personalia)

1757-58 - Left the Nicobar Islands (presumably due to illness) as went to Atchin. Møller writes that this was due to a rebellion on the Nicobar Islands against the Danes (Møller 1797, 501)

1758 - Sailed back to the Nicobar Islands on board the ship Ebenetzer, which stranded there, and all Lund's men fled. Lund himself stayed on the Nicobar Islands for 14 months in the company of his "black", i.e. Indian servant (Larsen Ostindiske Personalia; Møller 1797)

1759 - Sailed to the Malay Coast, Sumattra and Malakka on board an English ship, where he was "more dead than alive" (Larsen Ostindiske Personalia). When Lund left the Nicobar Islands, this marked the end of the first Danish attempt of colonising the islands (Møller 1797, 502)

1760 - Arrived at Trankebar, where he applied to the guvernement about a position and funds to pay off his debts. He was employed as overassistent and recieved the salary he had outstanding (Larsen Ostindiske Personalia)
