Born ?. Died 6 December 1756, just as the ship Kiøbenhavn had returned to Atchin from the Nicobar Islands, "Nye-Danmark". He was buried the same evening with salute from 9 shots of the cannons from the colony and the ship (Larsen Ostindiske Personalia)

Timeline

1753 - Hired by the Asiatic Company as underkøbmand in Trankebar, and sailed, in the same year from Copenhagen to India, alongside Krog, Hans Georg (Larsen Ostindiske Personalia)

1754 - Arrived at Trankebar. Here, Volquards was made 4th sekretråd og underkøbmand (Larsen Ostindiske Personalia)

1754 - According to Struwe, Guvernor Krog, Hans Georg did not believe that Volquards was reliable (Struwe, VGK 6, 199-200)

1755 - Appointed kirkeforstander (Larsen Ostindiske Personalia)

1756 - 16th august, ordered to go to the Nicobar Islands, where he was to take over command of the Danish colonisation attempt of "Nye-Danmark". At the end of August, Volquards travelled to the Nicobar Islands on board the ship "Kiøbenhavn", alongside Lund, Christian Frederik and 3 underassistenter, 30 Indian kulies (coolies), 4 håndværkere, 6 matroser, 1 underofficer and 16 company soldiers (Larsen Ostindiske Personalia). Again, Krog, Hans Georg did not believe Volquards to be particularly well suited for this task, and he declared to the directors, that Volquards could not be vouched for, but that it would have to be him that was sent to the Nicobar Islands, seeing as there were no better men than him for the task (Struwe, VGK 6, 230)

1756 - 9th september - arrived at the Great Nicobar (Larsen Ostindiske Personalia)
