1753 - Departure from Copenhagen on board the ship "Tranquebar", bound for [[Tranquebar]]. (Larsen Ostindiske Personalia)

1754 - Arrived at [[Tranquebar]]. (Larsen Ostindiske Personalia) 

1754 - Helped inspect the Guvernor's residence at the request of Guvernor [[Krog, Hans Georg]], which was found to be in bad condition (Struwe, VGT 6, 202-203)

1754 - December, instructed to travel to Pondicherry, and on his way inspect the newly erected battery in the Danish "loge" Portonovo. He returned to Tranquebar in 1755 (Larsen Ostindiske Personalia) 

1755 - 14 August, he was named leader of the expedition to colonise the Nicobar Islands in the Bay of Bengal. In september the same year, Tanck set out with the two ships [[Kongen af Danmark]] and [[Ebenezer]] (see www.jmarcussen.dk for more information on the ships).
