1774-8-2 - Died in Canton after three weeks of illness with a large debt to the Chinese. Apparently he had partnered with Heyberg, a former Skibsassistent of DAC and now a private trader "på Kysterne og i Bengalen". Together they had a debt of 11916 tael with Ingsia and 5974 teal with Manqua. Irgens additionaly owed Ingsia 5000 pillars. The Swedish supercargo Hahr, Jakob was also involved in that trade and suffered a loss. After the death of Irgens, Mourier, Peter Poul Ferdinand was hired as Assistent.
